My Fridge Essentials

Let me preface this by saying this is not a complete list! Obviously there is a plethora of foods that are nutrient dense, delicious, affordable, but this is my list of foods you can always find in my fridge, and for good reason! ;)

5 items always in my Fridge: high protein tofu, spinach, eggs, grilled chicken, unsweetened soy milk.

1. High protein or extra firm tofu.

Lean, complete protein baby! Super versatile, it comes in a few different varieties (silken, soft, medium, firm, extra firm) depending on what you’re using it for. The softer it is the higher the water content, and the firmer it is the higher the protein content! I use high protein tofu for scrambles, add it to my salads, stir frys, I even blend up softer varieties in my protein pancakes (I swear they’re delicious) recipe coming soon! I also love how it absorbs the flavor of whatever you’re cooking it with!

2. Spinach.

Those leafy greeens ya need them! I throw a handful of spinach into my smoothies and I promise you can’t taste it, but it adds so much nutritional value. I add it to my omelette’s with cheese or I make a breakfast salad on the side with eggs, so good!

3. Eggs.

Affordable, high quality protein, need I say more?

4. Grilled chicken!

Same as #3, high quality LEAN protein source, perfect for weight loss or for enjoyment. I like to buy chicken breast or thighs and bake them with different sauces + spices so I never get bored. I usually marinate them with balsamic vinegar, bbq sauce, marinara sauce (chicken parm anyone?!) or coconut aminos, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, so good!

5. Unsweetened Soy Milk.

Alwayss in my fridge! During the week I make a ton of overnight oats, chia puddings, protein shakes, and they all require milk. Soy milk happens to be my fav because it has a mild sweet flavor, slightly thicker than almond milk, smooth and creamy, high protein + I buy it with no added sugar!
